Love is in the Air...!
A
romantic couple were left feeling sky high after a Trial flight with The
Pom Flying Group!
Kevin Metcalf proposed to Tracey Richardson
on Valentines
Day
during their trial flight from Humberside airport. When flying
over Central Grimsby area he popped the question and Tracey said yes!
Tracey from Boston said: " I had no idea and was really surprised. The ring is beautiful and what happened has been so amazing. The flying lesson was also brilliant and I had a go at taking off and landing."
Kevin bought Tracey a gift of an hours trial flight in our Piper Warrior G-BPOM with Dave Gibson as instructor.
All at The POM Flying Group would like to wish them both all the very best for the future.

Solo Flight - Colin Lond
Congratulations to Colin Lond after completing his first Solo Flight at Humberside airport on 22nd November 2009. Colin was the pilot of Piper Warrior G-BPOM and successfully completed one take off, circuit and landing at the airport. He is continuing to train for the PPL Private Pilots Licence with the POM Flying Group.
Simon Pascoe passes Instrument Meteorological Rating (IMC).
Congratulations to Simon Pascoe for successfully completing the IMC Rating on Saturday 21 March 2009. Simon took the test with Captain Tim Darby at Gamston and passed with flying colours!

Sally Cluley - Britain's youngest qualified pilot!
The POM Flying Club
congratulates Sally Cluley on successfully
completing her PPL
training,
passing her General Flight Skills test on Thursday 28th August after
an intensive four week training course with The POM Flying Club at
Humberside airport. Sally was 17 on 28th September and was issued with her Private Pilots Licence to become the UK’s
youngest Pilot at a special ceremony held in the CAA offices at Gatwick Airport. A member of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, she is
also a glider pilot at RAF Syerston and has an ambition to train for her
Commercial Licence once she has completed her education. Sally
admitted to feeling "Very good, excited about it as well!"

Will
Holroyd Passes his PPL with The POM Flying Group

Will Holroyd (right) has been awarded with his Private Pilots Licence after completing his training with The Pom Flying Group. He is pictured here with Humberside flight examiner John Vickers after completing his General Flight test on Sunday 30 March 2008. Will (18) started learning to fly at 14 and has gone on to complete the required training and examinations. His licence now allows him to fly single engine light aircraft with a Maximum Take Off Weight of 2300kg (5070lbs) throughout Europe. Congratulations to Will and Happy Flying!
