Chris Dale - Director


Chris demonstrates a driving enthusiasm for quality and enjoyment for all aspects associated with The Pom Flying Group. He brings experience in sales, marketing and management gained from senior roles with major Blue Chip companies. 

He now runs his own Management Consultancy business specialising in the food & drink markets. He has a great interest in aviation, a Private Pilot himself he holds a JAR PPL with additional IMC and Night ratings. Chris co-owns G-BPOM which he uses regularly for business trips throughout the UK and Channel Islands.


Kevin Hogg - Director


A submariner turned pilot Kevin just loves flying and has Single, Multi-engine and Jet ratings.  A MBA from the University of Strathclyde he has a wealth of aviation training experience. A CEO of company providing some of the best learning and simulation solutions around the world, supporting for example Civil Aviation, Maintenance Engineering and the RAF with solutions which include the Tornado, Harrier, E3D, Nimrod, Hercules and Lightning 2.  He regularly fly's for business, saving his organisation time and money missing those awful traffic jams!  Most importantly Kevin's loves the social side of the POM Flying Club and regularly flies on the club outings, even though his golf is awful !


Dave Gibson - Chief Flying Instructor and Flight Examiner


Dave, who is an Electrical Engineer by profession, also holds a Commercial Pilots License and has extensive Flight instruction experience on many different aircraft types he has also trained countless student pilots to JAR PPL and IMC level. His solid and sound background in flying training has proven invaluable to students and qualified pilots alike. He inspires confidence and respect to all who desire a high level of achievement.

Dave's own personal flying achievements include the enviable pleasure of flying one of the worlds last airworthy Lancaster Bombers! He is also a Flight Lieutenant with the RAF Voluntary Reserve where he teaches glider pilots. As Chief Flying Instructor Dave is responsible for the student training syllabus and supervision of  all the Instructors in the POM Flying Club.


Tim Darby - Flight Examiner and Instructor


humberside airport pilot schoolTim learnt to fly at Turnhouse Airport in Edinburgh flying two seat Cessna 150's.  His day job now takes him worldwide as a Captain of 189 seat Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 passenger jets!  Previously he has also flown the Airbus A300 and Jetstream 41 Twin engine Turboprops. He is one of the groups CAA Flight Examiners and also instructs for PPL, IMC, Night and other ratings. Members benefit from Tim's vast experience, background knowledge and professional association with the Aviation industry to achieve their aviation goals.


Andy Rose - Instructor


Andy is an ex RAF fast jet pilot with experience on a wide variety of RAF aircraft. After leaving the RAF he became a Corporate Pilot flying a Cessna Golden Eagle and a Jet Ranger helicopter for a property developer. He then joined BAE and British Airways as Senior Captain flying Jetstreams, HS125 and latterly Embraer 146. With over 14,000 hours of flight experience, Andy is also a Commercial Helicopter pilot.

 He now flies a Raytheon Hawker 800XP Business Jet as a Captain with an international flying training humberside airportCorporate Business  Jet  Company. He trains both Flight and Ground School to students and pilots for the Private Pilots License and additional ratings. Pilots benefit not only from Andy's considerable knowledge and expertise but also his thorough and friendly approach to instruction.


Ian Bilson - Chief Ground School Instructor


Ian has recently retired as a Senior Captain with British Airways flying heavy jets. He learned to fly with the help of a BOAC Flying Scholarship at Hamble, Southampton in 1960. During his aviation career he has flown Boeing 707, Trident, the complete Boeing 747 "Jumbo Jet" series and the very latest Boeing 777. As Chief Ground School Instructor Ian will maintain high levels of teaching effectiveness and ensure close attention to the Student Pilots individual learning and motivational needs to help them through the theory side of Flight Training.


Kris Dale - Customer & Administration Manager


"Kris Dale is Customer & Administration Manager for The POM Flying Club. She is the other half (the one in charge!) of Chris Dale, and has joined the team to help with all customer and member bookings. Kris will also handle all enquiries for PPL training and trial flights as well as managing the administration of running the Flying Club.

A qualified (but retired) midwife SRN SCM, Kris has experienced life in the Royal Air Force (as Flying Officer) as well as the NHS and Private Sector. Following a brief time with Farley Health products as a Medical Representative - Kris met and married Chris who was her boss at Farleys!!

Now 26 years later with 3 daughters, Kris has been a volunteer in the charity sector, with Oxfam for 7 years and both as a volunteer and latterly Assistant Manager at Red Cross for the last 7 years - so she is well qualified to deal with us Fly Boys!


Lizzy Dale - PR and Marketing


When it comes to marketing activity, whether it's a press release, a group event or the requirement for a printed or electronic newsletter or advertisement, Lizzy Dale uses her proven track record, knowledge and experience in this field to maintain The Pom Flying Groups media profile in the most effective way. Lizzy is the Marketing & Communications Manager for a Major accountancy firm in the local area, and helps the POM Flying Club with PR and Marketing in her spare time. She has a BA in English and Linguistics and is currently studying for a post grad Marketing degree.


John MacNaught - Webmaster


John works full time as a Senior Engineer for a UK based company that has associations in France and Northern Spain, also runs his own Web Management business www.zoome.co.uk. Holds a JAR PPL (A) License, IMC rating and Night qualification. Learnt to fly at Inverness and Teesside airports including additional rating instruction with The POM Flying Group at Humberside. Pilot in Command Qualification for three aircraft types. Has recently amassed a staggering 25 minutes total time as Pilot under Training (Pu/t) in the Heliyorks R22 Helicopter!
